How To Be Happy – THE TRUTH

What makes people happy? This may vary according to perspectives. It’s often said that humans even with limitless happiness in a lifetime would never have enough or will be good for us, the reasons for this is because we like to make troubles and get our lives harder, searching for a purpose.

Everyone wants to be happy, nobody in history said otherwise, for that we do an endless searching of ways to achieve happiness since kids to adults.

After many failed attempts we expect to succeed with old solutions that didn’t work either a long time ago but we continue under the thought of not failing forever and the searching goes on for more time thinking that happiness is a well-deserved prize for our duties and efforts and this may have sense.

“A new car, maybe a cellphone, a lot of money definitely will help me finding happiness. No! That won´t work… I’m alone, I need a relationship and a family… otherwise, I won’t be happy”.

These are some typic phrases used to self-deception and mimic our difficulties with fake love a reflection in our lives.

Soon, we will start fulfilling these material and sentimental objectives that will please us for some time until we realize that the satisfaction faded away and the feeling of emptiness and need must be temporarily met.

We keep setting more goals: a better income, a best friend, a new house, and in each one of those things we expect to have the Absolut happiness.

Searching for happiness in external things is like walking in an endless loop to nowhere

Like I said before, the feeling of happiness, satisfaction, and pleasure is temporary if we confuse them with our personal goals.

For explanation, when a child finds a great toy left under a tree think of how much fun will have to play with it but it’s a manner of time to get bored and get used to having it and wanting another better, in adult life is the same way but with bigger and harder “toys” (jobs, money, goals, relationships).

There is no external reason, thing, or person that can offer us to be happy forever. Those external things can fulfill our wishes and give us satisfaction but just for a while until we start to feel empty, as a result, we are still searching for motivation
Human beings are dissatisfied and always with new ambitions, it’s in our nature.

So, what is that dream happiness like?

If we want to find true happiness, we have to dive deep inside us and search for it there, it may sound cliché but there is quite a sense to that phrase.

You probably noticed that the happiest people are the ones who find happiness in the least unexpected and little things or aspirations but there is a chance of a person having the same last described condition and be unsatisfied with what they have around them.

Some people are happy being wealthy and some others just need the necessary to live.

There is who is happy with their family and the other one who is happy alone. Even the richest person in the world could be upset about waking up in the morning while the other could be the happiest by just getting up of bed.

Of these examples can be seen that happiness is not about external circumstances but of a mental state. You can be happy here and now but you have to wish it because even so, some just don’t want to be happy.

How can I be happy here and now?

Once you know your happiness is your existence and latent in yourself, you don’t have to look for it anymore.

All you need resides in you. There is some helping advice that may let you change your perspective. Inspire you and search in your ways but keep in mind that true satisfaction isn’t outside yourself.

1. Gratefulness: Appreciate what you have now

We often look at the future in our lives: we are waiting to end our studies, start to work then when we are already working, we want a promotion and a better salary, the example goes successively.

This is called a shortage mentality. We look up for the things we want instead of the things we already have. In other words: gratitude is the key to change to an abundance mentality.

If you are aware of your abundance, you will notice that your needs and other things are covered and you can enjoy them (your daily food, clothes, house, education, jobs, etc.) doing this allows you to have a positive vision of life, the same if we only focus our need on what we don’t have, the vision will be negative. Thinking positively causes positive emotions.

2. Appreciate yourself and others

Any success matter despite its size and impact in our lives. Valuate the efforts of them and yours too, instead of thinking about what you haven’t done or the mistakes of other people, doing this you will notice all the efforts that people do daily and can appreciate them.

The importance of our efforts is improving our strengths and aptitudes and obtaining confidence in our lives and activities. Learning about yourself will motivate you towards success.

Self-contempt and bad critique never have worked for anybody to reach success and happiness.

3. Do what you like and enjoy

Find time for yourself, before or after your work or study. It doesn’t matter if it is just one hour a day, it matters because it’s time for only you.

Search for hobbies or just do the activities that fulfill your emotions in a good way. Everything you do for yourself will be based on your confidence and self-vision.

Being in good mood benefits you and your social environment.Nothing cheers you up more than doing what you are passionate about.
